Zion Williamson's Triple-Double Leads Pelicans to 18th Win of the Season Over Clippers

The New Orleans Pelicans secured a rare victory this season, marking their 18th win by defeating the Los Angeles Clippers at Smoothie King Center. Zion Williamson delivered an outstanding performance, recording his second career triple-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists.

The 2019 No. 1 NBA Draft pick showcased remarkable efficiency, shooting 8-of-13 from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line in 32 minutes.

This achievement comes just two weeks after his first career triple-double against the Phoenix Suns.

His improved fitness was evident as the Pelicans dominated the game, leading by as much as 21 points. Despite a brief third-quarter rally from the Clippers, New Orleans maintained control throughout the fourth quarter.

The Pelicans' efficient shooting, hitting 47 of 85 field goals and making 17 three-pointers, played a crucial role in securing the win.

Key bench performances from Jordan Hawkins (11 points), Karlo Matkovic (15 points), and Jose Alvarado (14 points) further strengthened the Pelicans’ effort. Despite the victory, New Orleans remains second to last in the Western Conference standings (18-48), only ahead of the Utah Jazz (15-50).

Meanwhile, the Clippers hold the eighth seed with a 35-30 record as they push for playoff positioning.
