Newcastle Appeals Anthony Gordon’s Red Card Ahead of Carabao Cup Final

Newcastle United is officially appealing the red card received by Anthony Gordon during the FA Cup match against Brighton on March 2, 2025. The winger was sent off in the 83rd minute following a clash with Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke.

If the suspension stands, Gordon will be ruled out for three matches, including the crucial Carabao Cup final against Liverpool on March 16. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has voiced his frustration, calling the decision harsh and insisting that Gordon had no intent to harm his opponent.
