Manchester United Misses Out as Geovany Quenda Chooses Chelsea

Manchester United has suffered a transfer setback as their top target, Geovany Quenda, has opted to join Chelsea instead. The 17-year-old Sporting Lisbon winger, who has impressed as a regular starter, was initially linked with a reunion with former coach Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

However, reports confirm that Chelsea moved swiftly behind the scenes to secure Quenda’s signature, outbidding United with an offer ranging between €40-50 million.

As part of the agreement, the talented winger will remain on loan at Sporting Lisbon for the 2025/2026 season, allowing him to continue his development in Portugal. He is expected to officially join The Blues in the summer of 2026, strengthening Chelsea’s long-term attacking options.
