Joe Cole: Enzo Maresca Had the Toughest Job in the Premier League This Season

Former Chelsea star Joe Cole believes that Enzo Maresca has faced the toughest challenge among all Premier League managers this season. Taking charge of Chelsea, Maresca has had to balance high expectations while implementing a consistent playing style.

According to Cole, the Italian manager arrived at Stamford Bridge under immense pressure, with the club’s ambitions not aligning with the situation he inherited.

“If you remember, he had to filter through a massive squad and establish his own style of play under intense scrutiny,” Cole stated. Despite these difficulties, Maresca has led Chelsea to an impressive fourth place in the Premier League and strong performances in the UEFA Conference League.
